Musings on....dancing

Last night we went to The Sagebrush Classic Feast.

We enjoyed an evening of wonderful food, drink and great music.  All to help provide financial assistance to area non profits serving families and children.

It is rare when I can get my husband on the dance floor!  I don't think I've been dancing in maybe 5 years!  When I lived in Colorado, my girlfriends and I would all go out and dance on Friday nights.  It was so much fun, but even then, I was the oldest in the group. It was reassuring that I was not the oldest one dancing last night!

Having fun on the dance floor!

My platform wedge sandals did give me some problems.  I was definitely wearing the right footwear, but my track record of falling off  my shoes has not been great.  I tripped on them on the way to the event and then did another classic "turning while walking and talking" move at the end of the evening. I don't think my husband will allow me to wear them in public again!

The cursed Tory Burch sandals!

It was a fun...but late night.

Musings on...Neckbeards

Neckbeards you ask?  Perhaps you are well acquainted with this style, but I have never heard of them before.

Tuesday and Wednesday I spent my days in the 8th grade Social Studies/Language Arts classes.  I was asked to help assist the students in drawing portraits for their Civil War wax museum.  Everything was going great, until one girl asked about her portrait of Horace Greeley.  "What is that under his neck?",   She asked?  I looked at the picture and we both tried to figure out what the hair was doing.  Was it really long sideburns?  Was it chest hair coming out over his collar?  I could not believe that a politician would find chest hair spilling out over his collar doing anything for his public image!  Was it really long sideburns?  She checked the internet, called me over, and behold....a neck beard!  What a bizarre addition to your face.  Perhaps we will see some of this curious facial hair when the World Beard & Mustache Championships come to Bend!

Musings on .....Dansko Clogs and good jeans

Ahhh....graceful me!  Yesterday I dropped my daughter off at school.  I was walking back to the car and I heard the principal call my name.  I turned to respond (still walking) and found myself splayed out in the parking lot.  I quickly got up and tried to regain my composure.  The principal asked if I was okay, and if there was ice in the parking lot.  I should have said yes.  But no...just me....falling off my Dansko clogs....again.  The worst part was that I put a hole in my Paige jeans and scraped my knee.  I actually don't care much about my knee...but I'm super bummed about the jeans!  I also love my clogs, but I have fallen off of them more than once!  I'm just naturally clumsy...always have been!  There's several stories about my clumsiness that will have to wait for a later date!
